Khawaja Asif Sees Positive Shift After Islamabad Talks

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the atmosphere following the Islamabad peace negotiations has improved, adding that there is still a strong possibility of another round of talks.

Speaking to journalists outside Parliament House, he said that no negative developments emerged after the negotiations, while positive indicators were clearly visible.

He noted that there is continued optimism regarding the resumption of dialogue, with expectations building toward further engagement in the next phase of discussions.

Khawaja Asif said he believes progress could be achieved in the upcoming round, adding that efforts may lead to a possible outcome by the next session. He further remarked that “God has been kind to Pakistan,” and commented on regional dynamics, stating that developments in India reflected disappointment.

His remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic activity in Islamabad, where multiple international stakeholders have been engaged in discussions aimed at reducing tensions and promoting dialogue.

Officials say that while no final agreement has yet been reached, the improved atmosphere could help sustain momentum for future negotiations.
