WASHINGTON – Web Desk: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has warned that companies continuing business cooperation with Iranian airlines could face American sanctions.
According to the Treasury Department, the move is part of ongoing pressure policy aimed at restricting Iran’s financial and logistics network. Officials allege that some Iranian airlines have been involved in supporting sensitive activities or specific groups in the region.
Iran has rejected the US position, calling it unfair and politically motivated. Iranian officials maintain that their airlines operate in accordance with international law.
Analysts say such US sanctions could pose risks for global companies, particularly those involved in international aviation or supply chains. The scope of US sanctions often extends to secondary sanctions, meaning non-US companies could also be affected if they continue doing business with Iran.
