Islamabad on High Alert Ahead of Iran-US Talks Arrival

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Authorities in Islamabad have placed the capital on high security alert following reports of the arrival of an Iranian delegation for potential talks with the United States.

According to local media, the delegation led by Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Pakistan for a possible second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States.

Security measures have been significantly tightened across the federal capital. Entry into the Red Zone, which houses key government buildings, remains restricted, while law enforcement personnel have been instructed to report to duty stations immediately.

Public transport services, including metro bus operations, have been suspended in both Islamabad and the neighboring city of Rawalpindi as a precautionary measure.

Earlier, the government had directed offices located in the Red Zone to remain closed, with employees instructed to work remotely. Transport access to the area has also been limited.

Media reports indicate that a U.S. delegation may also travel to Pakistan following the Iranian team, raising expectations of renewed diplomatic engagement amid ongoing regional tensions.

The developments come as Islamabad emerges as a potential venue for high-level negotiations, with heightened security reflecting the sensitivity of the discussions.
