London, UK – Web Desk: The British newspaper The Telegraph claims that Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, narrowly survived an Israeli attack on February 28. According to the report, Mojtaba was present with his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the same building during a high-level Iranian leadership meeting when the strike occurred.
The Telegraph said it obtained and verified an audio recording from Ayatollah Khamenei’s head protocol, in which Mazhar Hosseini explained that Mojtaba had stepped out of the room moments before the missile hit, moving into a garden area. This action reportedly shielded him from the full impact, leaving him with only a leg injury.
Hosseini is quoted as saying that divine will played a role in Mojtaba’s survival, noting that he was climbing stairs outside when the building was struck. The attack reportedly killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, in the February 28 strike.
