Iranian Drone Strikes Hit Kuwait Oil, Power Facilities

Date:

Kuwait City, Kuwait – Web Desk: Key infrastructure in Kuwait came under attack after drones reportedly linked to Iran targeted strategic sites, triggering fires at oil sector facilities, power plants, and a government building, according to media reports.

The strikes reportedly hit the Shuwaikh oil sector, where large fires broke out, while two power plants and a government office building also sustained damage. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported, though emergency response teams were deployed to contain the fires and secure affected areas.

Russian media outlets released footage showing damage inside a government finance ministry office, highlighting the scale of the incident. Additional reports indicated that a gas field in Kuwait was also targeted during the attacks.

The escalation comes amid rising regional tensions, with Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warning the United States against further escalation. Iranian officials cautioned that any expansion of conflict could destabilize the wider region.

Separately, Iran claimed it launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes on Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, causing fires in multiple vehicles. Iranian authorities also alleged that a missing U.S. pilot remains unaccounted for and accused the United States of conducting strikes that may have resulted in the pilot’s death—claims that have not been independently verified.

Analysts warn the latest developments underscore a rapidly escalating regional conflict with potential implications for global energy markets and security.
