Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has said Iran will continue resisting the United States and Israel until it achieves what he described as a final victory, while pledging to uphold the mission of those killed during last year’s conflict.
Speaking on the first anniversary of the 12-day war, Qalibaf paid tribute to Iranian martyrs and strongly criticized the United States and Israel, accusing them of targeting civilians during the conflict.
According to Iranian state media, Qalibaf said that even innocent children were killed during the 12-day war and questioned what he described as the justification for attacks on unarmed civilians. He said Iran would continue drawing strength from the sacrifices of those who lost their lives and would remain committed to its national goals.
The Iranian leader stated that Tehran would not retreat from its position and would continue pursuing what it sees as national dignity, sovereignty, and ultimate success.
The conflict erupted after Israel, backed by the United States, launched major strikes against Iran in June last year, accusing Tehran of supporting Hezbollah and Hamas. The attacks reportedly targeted nuclear scientists, senior military commanders, and political figures.
Qalibaf, who also heads Iran’s negotiating team in talks with Washington, has repeatedly stated that Iran wants to end what he described as a cycle of “war, ceasefire, and war again.” He has argued that any future arrangement must provide long-term stability rather than temporary pauses in hostilities.
In previous remarks, Qalibaf warned that Iran’s armed forces are prepared to respond immediately to any violation of a ceasefire agreement. He emphasized that Tehran’s strategy is to advance diplomacy and defense preparedness simultaneously amid ongoing regional tensions.
