Iran Warns U.S.: Military Bases and Assets Will Be Targeted if Attacked

Date:

New York, USA – Web Desk: Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that while it does not seek war, any attack will trigger targeted strikes on U.S. military bases and assets in the region.

The message was conveyed in a letter sent to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres by Iran’s permanent mission to the UN. The letter cited recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump as signaling a real threat of military aggression in the region.

Iran emphasized that it aims to avoid escalating tensions, but if confronted with military action, it will respond decisively in self-defense. Iranian officials highlighted that enemy military bases, facilities, and other assets in the region would be considered legitimate targets under such circumstances.

The letter specifically referenced a U.S. social media post mentioning potential use of airfields including Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford. Iranian authorities urged the UN to take notice of the situation and to play a role in reducing regional tensions.

This development comes amid heightened U.S.-Iran tensions, raising concerns among international observers about the stability of the Middle East.
