Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohammad Bagher Zolqadr has sharply criticized recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, warning him to speak to the Iranian people with respect or face a stronger response.
According to Iranian state media, Zolqadr said Trump had previously predicted the collapse of Iran despite its thousands of years of civilization. He claimed those predictions ended in “failure, disappointment, and requests for negotiations and a ceasefire,” adding that the Iranian nation does not respond to threats.
“Speak to the Iranian people with respect, otherwise you will receive a response in a different language,” Zolqadr said, reiterating Tehran’s stance against what it described as intimidation and coercive rhetoric.
Meanwhile, Iranian Minister of Culture Seyyed Abbas Salehi also criticized recent US statements in a post on X. He said Iran’s adversaries had not abandoned the language of threats and warned that if previous setbacks had not been enough of a lesson, the massive turnout at the funeral of Iran’s late leader should demonstrate the country’s unity and resolve.
Salehi added that Iran would neither retreat from defending its national rights nor from pursuing diplomacy, urging Washington to avoid statements that could further escalate tensions.
The exchange comes amid continued regional tensions and renewed diplomatic efforts concerning Iran’s future negotiations with Western powers.
