Iran Says Pakistan Preferred Venue for US Talks Round Two

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Iranian officials have said that Pakistan would be their preferred venue if a second round of talks with the United States takes place, amid growing speculation over renewed diplomatic engagement in Islamabad.

Speaking to media, Iranian officials stated that Tehran remains ready for negotiations, although it is unclear whether the other side is prepared to resume talks at this stage.

Reports circulating in international media suggest that another round of US-Iran discussions could be held in Islamabad in the coming days, following earlier diplomatic contacts aimed at easing regional tensions.

According to Reuters, citing sources, delegations from the United States and Iran may return to Islamabad this week for renewed peace discussions.

Separately, an official from the Iranian embassy in Pakistan told Reuters that the next round of talks could take place either this week or early next week, though no final confirmation has been made.

Earlier, US media reports citing Pakistani officials indicated that Islamabad had offered to host the second phase of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, highlighting Pakistan’s emerging diplomatic role in facilitating regional dialogue.

If confirmed, the proposed talks would mark another significant diplomatic engagement hosted in Pakistan as efforts continue to reduce tensions between the two countries.
