Iran Says 942 Schools Damaged in US-Israel Strikes

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran’s Ministry of Education has reported widespread damage to educational institutions following what it described as U.S.-Israeli strikes, releasing detailed figures on casualties and destruction across the country.

According to official data cited by state media, at least 278 primary and secondary school students and 67 teachers were killed between February 28 and April 8. A further 196 students and 26 teachers were reported injured.

Iranian authorities said a total of 942 schools were damaged in the strikes, including 18 that were completely destroyed. The figures were shared by government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani.

Officials added that the attacks caused damage to approximately 125,640 civilian units, including 100,000 homes, 20,500 commercial properties, and 339 healthcare facilities.

The strikes were described by Iranian officials as part of joint military actions launched by the United States and Israel starting on February 28. The claims have drawn widespread condemnation from various international quarters, although independent verification of the figures remains limited.

Authorities further stated that more than 3,300 people have been killed in the conflict, with hundreds of thousands displaced.

Analysts warn that the reported scale of damage could intensify global concern over civilian casualties and humanitarian conditions, particularly regarding the impact on education and critical infrastructure.
