Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has rejected claims by U.S. President Donald Trump that the ongoing conflict could soon end, warning that it will continue fighting as long as attacks against the country persist.
According to international media reports, Iranian leaders said the country would keep responding militarily until what they described as “enemy aggression” stops.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran is the heir to a civilization spanning more than 6,000 years and that no power in history has been able to erase the nation’s identity.
“Those who dream of destroying Iran do not understand history,” Pezeshkian said, adding that invaders have come and gone throughout history but Iran has endured.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also said in an interview that the country is fully prepared and will continue its missile operations as long as necessary.
He added that negotiations with the United States are currently not on Iran’s agenda, citing what he described as a “bitter experience” with past diplomatic engagements.
Meanwhile, Ali Larijani dismissed Trump’s threats as empty and warned that stronger figures in the past had failed to defeat the Iranian nation.
“If someone wishes to destroy us, they should be careful that they do not destroy themselves,” Larijani said.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also stated that Tehran would decide when the war ends and warned that continued attacks could lead to policies aimed at halting oil exports from the region.
The conflict has already affected shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway through which roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply passes.
At the same time, Amin Nasser warned that the situation around the Strait of Hormuz is already disrupting oil supplies and that a prolonged conflict could have severe consequences for the global economy.
Iranian parliamentary leaders also signaled that Tehran is not seeking a ceasefire and will respond firmly to what they described as aggression.
