Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistani actor and television host Fiza Ali has once again come under social media scrutiny following her Labour Day special program, which aimed to highlight the contributions of workers but instead sparked widespread criticism online.
On May 1, Fiza Ali invited individuals from various working-class professions to her show to pay tribute to their services. During the program, she was also seen holding a shovel and recording a video reel alongside labourers, conveying a message of appreciation for the working class.
However, the initiative drew mixed reactions. While some viewers acknowledged the intent behind the program, a large number of social media users criticised it as a publicity-driven effort. Critics argued that instead of presenting workers with dignity and respect as regular guests, they were portrayed in a way that appeared staged for content and online engagement.
Several users expressed concern that the segment lacked seriousness and failed to genuinely reflect the struggles and contributions of labourers. Others suggested that if the objective was to honour workers, it should have been done in a more respectful and meaningful manner.
The video has since triggered a broader debate online about representation, media ethics, and the portrayal of working-class individuals in entertainment content.
