Iran Considers Leaving Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Amid Tensions

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has begun seriously considering withdrawing from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), sparking a fresh wave of international concern. According to Iranian media, the move aims to prevent alleged espionage by IAEA inspectors, whose activities Tehran claims are being exploited by the United States and Israel to access sensitive information.

Reports indicate that Iran’s parliament and relevant agencies are reviewing the matter, suggesting that the country sees limited justification for remaining in the NPT under current conditions. Iranian officials argue that while the NPT and the IAEA should guarantee access to peaceful nuclear technology, attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities by foreign powers have gone largely unchallenged.

Experts warn that an Iranian exit from the NPT could deal a major blow to the global nuclear order and further heighten regional tensions. Meanwhile, countries including Pakistan are pursuing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and seek a negotiated solution, though the situation remains complex and volatile.
