Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Iran has confirmed ongoing diplomatic communication with the United States through Pakistan, saying it is reviewing recent American proposals and will soon share its official response via Islamabad.
According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, indirect messaging between Tehran and Washington is continuing through Pakistan as a key diplomatic channel. He said Iran is carefully reviewing the content of US proposals and ceasefire-related communications but has not yet submitted a formal reply.
Baghaei stated that Iran will soon convey its official position to Washington through Pakistan, emphasizing that multiple proposals are currently under consideration and any decision will be based on national interests.
Media reports suggest that a potential US-Iran ceasefire framework has been reduced to a one-page draft, including provisions related to ending hostilities, reducing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, and easing certain sanctions.
The development comes amid intensified diplomatic activity, with Pakistan increasingly seen as playing a facilitative role in backchannel communications between the two sides.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently described the ongoing situation as nearing a possible conclusion, while US President Donald Trump also announced a temporary pause in the “Project Freedom” naval operation in the region, citing positive diplomatic signals involving Pakistan and other stakeholders.
Analysts say Pakistan has emerged as a significant diplomatic intermediary in efforts to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States, particularly amid heightened instability in the Gulf region.
