India Failed to Shoot Down Any Pakistani Aircraft in May Battle: DG ISPR

Date:

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that during the May conflict, referred to as Maarka-e-Haq, India was unable to shoot down a single Pakistani aircraft.

In an interview with American publication Bloomberg, General Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan’s military strategy is rooted in deploying effective platforms and leveraging indigenous technology. He noted that Pakistan remains open to acquiring advanced systems from both Eastern and Western sources, but clarified that the country is not engaged in an arms race with India. “Our defense budget is significantly smaller, and we do not possess unlimited resources,” he added.

The DG ISPR further asserted that Pakistan has never attempted to manipulate or conceal facts and figures. He reiterated that no Pakistani aircraft were downed during the May battle.

General Chaudhry also confirmed the strong performance of Pakistani weaponry, including Chinese systems currently in service with the armed forces. He praised the effectiveness of these platforms, particularly in recent engagements.

The Bloomberg interviewer referenced a statement made a week earlier by U.S. President Donald Trump, who confirmed that seven Indian aircraft had been shot down. The report also highlighted that Pakistan’s Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets were responsible for downing several Indian Air Force aircraft, including Rafales, during Maarka-e-Haq.

Additionally, Bloomberg reported that in August, Pakistan announced the induction of the Z-10ME attack helicopter into its arsenal. Pakistan continues to operate a mix of Chinese weaponry and U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets.
