After the viral success of Fa9la in Dhurandhar, the Bahrain-based rapper suggests his journey with the franchise may not be over.
Bahrain-based rapper Flipperachi has hinted at a potential collaboration in Dhurandhar 2, following the massive success of his track Fa9la, which featured during Akshaye Khanna’s striking entry in Dhurandhar.
When Khanna appeared on screen accompanied by Fa9la, the moment immediately stood out, setting a darker, more intense tone than a conventional villain introduction. The haunting soundtrack lingered with audiences long after the credits rolled.
Within days of the film’s release, Fa9la spread rapidly across Instagram reels, reaction videos, and dance clips, filmed everywhere from living rooms to parking lots, turning the track into a viral sensation.
A Breakthrough Moment for Flipperachi
For Flipperachi, whose real name is Hussam Aseem, the sudden surge in popularity came as an unexpected breakthrough. Speaking to India Today, he described the response as overwhelming.
“To be honest, it’s crazy. My DMs are blowing up every single day. I cannot keep up with the people tagging me and vibing with the song,” he said.
The artist admitted he initially struggled to comprehend the scale of Fa9la’s success in India.
“When they first told me my song was booming in India, I was like, what?” he recalled.
The impact became fully apparent once the track became inseparable from Khanna’s ominous on-screen persona.
Hinting at ‘Dhurandhar 2’
When asked about a possible return for Dhurandhar 2, expected next year, Flipperachi stopped short of a direct confirmation but left room for speculation.
“I was going to keep it a surprise, but I guess there’s something. I wouldn’t want to tell you everything about it, but yeah, there might be something,” he said.
Flipperachi revealed that Aditya Dhar’s team selected Fa9la almost immediately after hearing it, citing the track’s dark, atmospheric tone.
“The strings in it, the dark strings,” he explained, noting how the music aligned perfectly with the character and narrative.
As Dhurandhar crossed Rs 1,200 crore at the global box office, Fa9la continued to gain momentum, quietly expanding Flipperachi’s footprint in Indian cinema and positioning him as a rising international collaborator.
