LAHORE – Web Desk: Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, has openly praised a Pakistani judicial decision, welcoming the Lahore High Court’s ruling upholding the death sentence for convicts in the motorway gang rape case.
The Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed the appeals filed by convicts Abid Malhi and Shafqat Bagga, upholding their death sentences. In response, Musk stated that the West should also make such brave decisions, replying to a social media post by British Member of Parliament Rupert James Graham, who had described the judicial decision as “good news coming from Pakistan.”
An anti-terrorism court had sentenced both convicts to death on charges of rape on March 20, 2021. The convicts had challenged the verdict in the Lahore High Court on March 25, 2021.
