Eight Muslim Nations Condemn Al-Aqsa Access Restrictions

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Foreign ministers from eight Muslim-majority countries, including Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, have jointly condemned restrictions on access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, describing the measures as “unacceptable.”

In a joint statement issued following their meeting, the ministers criticized Israel for limiting access to Al-Aqsa Mosque and other religious sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. They said such actions constitute a clear violation of international law and fundamental human rights.

The statement rejected any attempts to alter the legal and historical status of religious sites in occupied Jerusalem. It further stressed that restrictions imposed during Ramadan, including limiting access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, undermine the principle of religious freedom.

The ministers reaffirmed that Jordanian Waqf Department remains the sole legitimate authority responsible for managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque. They also urged the international community to take immediate and effective steps to halt what they described as ongoing violations.

The coordinated stance reflects growing concern across the Muslim world over developments in Jerusalem, particularly regarding access to key religious sites amid heightened regional tensions.
