Dolphin Police Officers Suspended After Assault Video in Islamabad

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Islamabad police have suspended several Dolphin Squad officers after a video showing them assaulting a man and a woman went viral on social media, authorities said on Friday.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Margalla police station area of Sector F-8, where Dolphin Squad personnel stopped a man and his wife outside their home. An argument reportedly broke out during an identity card check, after which officers allegedly assaulted the couple.

The Inspector General of Islamabad Police took notice of the viral footage and ordered the suspension of the officers involved. An inquiry has been launched by the Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) to investigate the incident.

Police officials also said that both parties have reached a settlement, but the investigation is continuing as part of departmental procedures.

The case has sparked public debate on police conduct and accountability in Pakistan, with calls for strict disciplinary action against officers involved in abuse of authority.
