DG ISPR Briefs Media on Counterterrorism and Pakistan’s Security Situation

Military spokesperson outlines Pakistan’s security strategy, highlighting ongoing counterterrorism operations and the resolve to eliminate militant networks.

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan — WEB DESK: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and will continue pursuing militants and their facilitators as part of an intensified nationwide counterterrorism campaign.

Addressing a press conference on Pakistan’s security situation, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reviewed recent counterterrorism operations and the broader security environment, reaffirming the military’s commitment to safeguarding national stability.

Counterterrorism Operations

The military spokesperson said security forces have carried out a series of intelligence-based operations targeting militant networks, adding that operations would continue until terrorist groups and their support infrastructure are dismantled. He stressed that Pakistan’s armed forces, together with law enforcement agencies, remain focused on preventing future attacks.

Lt Gen Chaudhry reiterated that the campaign against terrorism is being conducted under the national security framework and emphasised that the military would continue to act against all terrorist organisations and their facilitators.

Security Situation

The briefing also covered Pakistan’s overall security environment, including recent terrorist incidents and the response by security forces. The military highlighted the sacrifices made by security personnel and civilians during ongoing counterterrorism efforts and reaffirmed the state’s resolve to maintain peace and stability.

Regional Security

The DG ISPR also discussed broader regional security challenges, including cross-border militant threats and the importance of strengthening national resilience against terrorism. He said Pakistan would continue working to counter militant violence while protecting its territorial integrity.

The press conference comes amid continued security operations in several parts of the country following recent militant attacks, with authorities maintaining that counterterrorism efforts will remain a national priority.
