Iran Claims Drone Attack on US Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait

Date:

Tehran says the attack targeted key military facilities in response to alleged US strikes, while Kuwait and the United States have not confirmed the claim.

TEHRAN, Iran — WEB DESK: Iran has claimed that it launched a drone attack on the Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, a key facility used by the United States military, saying the operation was carried out in response to recent alleged US strikes.

According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian military said the operation targeted hangars, satellite communication systems and military equipment storage facilities at the air base using drones.

Iran Says Attack Was Retaliation

In a statement carried by Tasnim, the Iranian military said the strike was launched in retaliation for what it described as a US attack on a residential building on Qeshm Island, where it alleged several civilians were killed and injured.

Iran claimed the Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base serves as an important hub for US aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering and military operations in the Gulf region, making it a legitimate military target.

No Independent Confirmation

The Iranian military did not provide evidence of the alleged damage or report any casualties resulting from the claimed attack.

As of publication, Kuwait and the United States had not officially confirmed or denied Iran’s claims. Independent sources have also not verified that the reported drone strike took place.

Regional Tensions Continue

If confirmed, the reported strike would mark another significant escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States, following a series of military exchanges and heightened security concerns across the Middle East.

Regional analysts say any confirmed attack on a US military installation in Kuwait could have broader implications for Gulf security and regional stability. However, the claims remain unverified, and further official information is awaited.
