New Delhi, India – Web Desk: Security agencies in India’s capital were placed on high alert after an email threatening to bomb the Delhi Assembly was received by the Speaker. The sender claimed affiliation with the Khalistan National Army and outlined certain demands.
According to Indian media, the email was promptly shared with intelligence and law enforcement authorities. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta confirmed that precautionary measures, including a full search of the Assembly Hall, were conducted immediately.
In a statement on social media platform X, the Assembly said that necessary steps were being taken to ensure the security of the building and its officials. Gupta urged security forces to trace the origin of the threat and identify those responsible to neutralize any potential risk.
The incident comes amid a series of similar threats to sensitive locations in New Delhi, including Army Public School in Dhola Kuon and the Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodhi Road.
Authorities have intensified surveillance across the city, with cybercrime and intelligence units conducting joint investigations to track the individuals behind these threats. Despite intensive efforts, security and intelligence agencies have not yet been able to identify the sender of the email.
