China praises Pakistan’s role in Iran–US ceasefire efforts

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: China has praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, calling Islamabad a credible and active mediator in efforts to stabilize the region.

In an interview with Iranian media, Chinese Ambassador to Iran Cong Peiwu said Beijing supports Pakistan’s constructive engagement in hosting and facilitating talks aimed at achieving a temporary ceasefire between Tehran and Washington.

He described the recent Iran–US hostilities as a violation of international law and stressed that disputes should be resolved through diplomacy and negotiations.

The Chinese envoy reaffirmed Beijing’s support for Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security, adding that China will continue efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.

Cong Peiwu also said China has no geopolitical agenda in the region and remains committed to promoting peace, stability and development. He emphasized that maintaining dialogue is essential for achieving a lasting ceasefire.

Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, he said it is a vital global trade and energy route and its security is in the interest of the entire world.

He added that normal trade between Iran and China will continue unaffected by external pressure, warning against attempts by any outside power to disrupt legitimate economic cooperation.
