- Skardu, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Tuesday that only his party has the vision and policies needed to address Pakistan’s economic challenges, while reaffirming support for peace efforts in the region amid growing tensions following the Iran conflict.
Addressing a public gathering in Skardu, Bilawal said the economic fallout of regional instability has affected countries across the region and stressed the importance of successful peace initiatives. He expressed pride in Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and regional stability.
The PPP chairman said his party remains committed to representing underprivileged communities and strengthening social welfare programmes, including the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). He pledged to seek increased funding for BISP in the upcoming federal budget and criticized attempts to weaken the initiative.
Bilawal highlighted PPP’s development record, including housing projects for flood-affected families in Sindh, employment generation initiatives, and investments in social protection programmes. He also called for greater rights and resources for Gilgit-Baltistan, arguing that local communities should benefit directly from regional resources.
The PPP leader further emphasized the party’s historical role in Pakistan’s development, including welfare initiatives, economic reforms, and infrastructure projects. He urged voters in Gilgit-Baltistan to support PPP candidates in the upcoming elections, promising policies focused on employment, social justice, and economic growth.
