ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that terrorist organizations operating from Afghanistan continue to pose a persistent threat to Pakistan’s national security, urging the international community to intensify collective efforts to eliminate terrorism.
Addressing a joint press conference with Croatian Foreign Minister Dr. Gordan Grlić Radman in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar welcomed the Croatian delegation and described the visit as a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Croatia.
He said Pakistan and Croatia enjoy strong ties based on mutual trust, goodwill, and respect, while encouraging Croatian businesses to benefit from Pakistan’s investor-friendly policies and explore opportunities in trade and investment.
Referring to regional security, the deputy prime minister stressed that terrorist groups based in Afghanistan should not be allowed to use Afghan territory against any country, particularly Pakistan. He called for enhanced international cooperation to effectively counter terrorism and ensure lasting regional peace.
Commenting on regional water disputes, Ishaq Dar said India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the use of water as a political weapon constitute violations of international law and existing agreements.
He also described the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding as an important development for promoting peace and stability in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Croatian Foreign Minister Dr. Gordan Grlić Radman said his visit would further strengthen bilateral relations, adding that Pakistan and Croatia share a relationship founded on mutual respect, trust, and constructive cooperation.
