JERUSALEM, Israel – (Web Desk) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation on Friday, during which the two leaders agreed to meet in the United States in the near future, according to a statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
During the call, Prime Minister Netanyahu congratulated President Trump on the 250th anniversary of American independence and reaffirmed Israel’s appreciation for its close strategic partnership with the United States.
According to the statement, Netanyahu described the United States as a guarantor of global freedom and emphasized that Israel highly values its longstanding alliance with Washington.
The two leaders also agreed to hold an in-person meeting in the United States to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments. However, the statement did not specify the date or venue of the proposed meeting.
The conversation comes at a time of heightened regional tensions following recent joint US-Israeli military operations against Iran. It also follows media reports suggesting differences between the two leaders over efforts to end the ongoing conflict in the region.
The United States remains Israel’s closest strategic ally, although recent weeks have seen public criticism from President Trump regarding Israel’s military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon, amid concerns that the conflict could undermine broader regional peace efforts and diplomatic engagement with Iran.
The latest telephone call signals continued high-level coordination between Washington and Tel Aviv as regional security challenges remain in focus.
