TEHRAN, Iran – (Web Desk) Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said the Iranian nation would emerge victorious in its struggle against the United States, reaffirming Moscow’s support for Tehran during a visit to Iran.
Medvedev is leading a high-level Russian delegation attending the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, in Tehran.
Following the condolence ceremony, Medvedev expressed Russia’s solidarity with the Iranian people, saying Moscow shares Iran’s grief over the death of the late Supreme Leader.
He stated that the loss had united the Iranian nation and asserted that Iran would not bow to pressure from the United States or any other country.
“The Iranian nation will emerge victorious in its struggle against the United States,” Medvedev said, reiterating Russia’s continued support for Iran during the ongoing regional tensions.
During the visit, the Russian delegation also met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and discussed accelerating the implementation of strategic agreements between Tehran and Moscow.
President Pezeshkian emphasized the need to expedite cooperation in key sectors, including the economy, trade, energy, and transport, describing the strategic partnership between Iran and Russia as important for both countries.
The meetings underscore the growing political and economic ties between Tehran and Moscow amid shifting regional dynamics and heightened geopolitical tensions.
