TEHRAN – Web Desk: Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claims regarding a potential agreement with the United States, making clear that no deal has been finalized so far, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei.
Baghaei stated that reports about the signing date and location of an agreement are mere speculation. He acknowledged that a large portion of the negotiation draft has been completed, but repeated shifts in the US position have impacted progress. Qatar and Pakistan are playing key mediation roles in the diplomatic process, Baghaei added, while emphasizing that Iran will not compromise on its principled position and red lines.
Meanwhile, President Trump had claimed that an agreement with Iran has entered its final stages and is expected to be signed soon, stating that Iran’s senior leadership also agrees with the deal, which would prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. According to diplomatic sources, the contradiction between the two sides’ statements has created an uncertain situation.
