Prime Minister congratulates PPP on emerging as majority party in Gilgit-Baltistan

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on emerging as the largest political party in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections, according to preliminary and unofficial results.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the prime minister also congratulated the people of Gilgit-Baltistan on the peaceful conduct of the elections and praised their active participation in the democratic process.

Shehbaz Sharif said the PPP had emerged as the majority political force in Gilgit-Baltistan and deserved congratulations for its performance. He extended his congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the party’s electoral success.

The prime minister also congratulated the successful candidates of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), commending them for putting up a strong contest. He praised the efforts of the party’s campaign team and acknowledged their hard work throughout the election process.

Sharif further said that peaceful and transparent elections reflect the strength of democracy. He praised the Election Commission for ensuring a fair and impartial electoral process and appreciated the role of police and law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace during polling.

According to ongoing unofficial and non-final results, the Pakistan Peoples Party has so far secured the highest number of seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, winning nine constituencies.
