Paris, France – Web Desk: French prosecutors have opened a war crimes investigation into allegations of mistreatment of activists involved in a Gaza-bound flotilla, according to official statements.
The French Public Prosecutor’s Office said the inquiry was launched following a government request and focuses on alleged abuse of humanitarian activists by Israeli authorities during the flotilla incident.
Meanwhile, Ireland has announced entry bans on Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, citing concerns over their conduct related to the Gaza aid flotilla and broader tensions in the region.
Irish Prime Minister stated that reported mistreatment of members of the Gaza aid flotilla was unacceptable and required a firm response.
In a separate development, thousands of protesters took to the streets in Albania’s capital Tirana to oppose a planned investment project linked to an American-Israeli real estate company.
Demonstrators argued that “Albania is not for sale,” referring to reports that a firm associated with Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former U.S. President Donald Trump, is seeking to invest in a major residential development in the country.
The developments highlight growing international political and public tensions surrounding the Gaza conflict, foreign investments, and diplomatic relations in Europe.
