The index opened higher, touching an intra-day high of 175,237.59 before retreating to a low of 174,144.11. Trading volume reached 60.14 million shares, with a traded value of Rs3.52 billion .

Investor Sentiment

Brokers noted that activity remained selective, with limited participation from institutional players. The modest advance reflected profit-taking at higher levels after the index approached the intra-day peak earlier in the session.
