Pakistan’s Defence in Safe Hands, All Threats to Be Eliminated Through Operation Azm-e-Haq: PM Message on Youm-e-Takbeer

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan’s national defence is in safe and capable hands, vowing to eliminate all forms of “fitna” through Operation Azm-e-Haq, in his message on Youm-e-Takbeer, marking 28 years since Pakistan’s nuclear tests.

Pakistan conducted its nuclear tests on May 28, 1998, in Chagai, Balochistan, in response to India’s nuclear explosions, establishing itself as a declared nuclear power. The day is commemorated annually as Youm-e-Takbeer.

Paying tribute to former leaders including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and Dr Samar Mubarakmand, the prime minister said Pakistan’s nuclear capability ensured national security and deterred external aggression.

He said recent tensions, including what he described as India’s “false flag” narrative, were countered through national unity and the professionalism of the armed forces. He praised Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership and the operational success of “Bunyan-um-Marsoos.”

The prime minister also accused hostile elements and proxies of destabilising the region, stating that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared with modern capabilities to defend every inch of the country.

Separately, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Youm-e-Takbeer represents a historic milestone that restored strategic balance in South Asia and symbolizes national unity, resilience and sovereignty.

The military’s media wing said the achievement was made possible through the efforts of scientists, engineers, political leadership and the sacrifices of the armed forces, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability.
