Beijing, China – Web Desk: China has strongly reiterated that the Taiwan issue is a “red line” in its relations with the United States, warning that it cannot be crossed under any circumstances.
The remarks were made during a meeting in Beijing between Chinese Premier and a visiting US delegation led by Senator Steve Daines, where both sides discussed bilateral ties, economic cooperation, and regional security issues.
According to official statements, the Chinese leadership emphasized that Taiwan remains a core national interest and one of the most sensitive and critical issues in China-US relations.
Beijing stated that it will firmly safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity and will not make any compromise on matters related to national unity.
At the same time, Chinese officials expressed readiness to strengthen engagement and cooperation with the United States in various sectors, saying that practical collaboration between the world’s two largest economies could be expanded.
US Senator Steve Daines, during the meeting, stressed the importance of stable relations between Washington and Beijing, highlighting that economic cooperation and peaceful engagement are essential for global economic stability and regional peace.
Analysts say the Taiwan issue has become one of the most significant flashpoints in China-US relations in recent years, and such strong statements from both sides could further heighten diplomatic tensions in the region.
