Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has said it is carefully reviewing the situation and will soon announce its decision regarding ongoing ceasefire negotiations with the United States, amid rising diplomatic tensions.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, criticized Washington’s actions, saying its “illegal measures” and contradictory statements do not align with its claims of diplomacy.
He emphasized that Iran is closely assessing developments to safeguard its national interests and security, and will soon determine its position on further negotiations with the US.
Lavrov, for his part, stressed the importance of peace in the Middle East, stating that dialogue remains the only viable solution and all parties must adhere to it.
Earlier, Araghchi also spoke with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, discussing the ceasefire and regional situation. Iran appreciated Pakistan’s mediation efforts but accused the US of ceasefire violations and provocations.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has warned that the ceasefire could expire by Wednesday evening, with little chance of extension without a formal agreement.
