Noida, India – Web Desk: Thousands of factory workers in Noida staged protests demanding wage increases, with demonstrations turning violent amid growing economic concerns.
According to The Times of India, the protests escalated into clashes, with several vehicles set on fire and property damaged. The unrest reflects mounting frustration among workers facing rising living costs and stagnant wages.
Opposition leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, criticized the government led by Narendra Modi, blaming its economic policies for worsening conditions for laborers. Yadav alleged that pro-business policies have left workers struggling for fair wages.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Ajay Rai said that promotional campaigns cannot substitute for real economic relief, urging authorities to address workers’ legitimate demands.
Analysts say the protests highlight deeper structural issues in India’s labor and economic framework, as rising inflation and income disparities continue to fuel discontent across multiple sectors.
