Washington, United States – Web Desk: Iranian media reports claim that the United States has begun enforcing maritime restrictions targeting Iranian ports, following an announcement by the U.S. military’s Central Command United States Central Command (CENTCOM).
According to the reports, CENTCOM stated that naval movements to and from Iranian ports have been formally restricted starting April 13 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, following an announcement by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
The measures reportedly block international vessels from accessing Iranian ports and coastal areas, particularly in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman, as part of expanded maritime enforcement actions.
However, U.S. officials emphasized that freedom of navigation through key global waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz, would remain unaffected for non-Iran-linked shipping activity.
CENTCOM also stated that vessels operating near Iranian waters have been instructed to monitor Notices to Mariners and maintain communication with U.S. naval forces via designated maritime channels during operations in the Gulf of Oman and surrounding areas.
The reports have not yet been independently verified, and Iranian authorities have not issued an official confirmation.
