Iran Warns Gulf Ports Not Safe Amid Rising Tensions

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that if Iranian ports come under any form of threat, no port in the region will remain safe, escalating concerns over rising tensions in the Gulf.

In a strongly worded statement, a military spokesperson said that Gulf ports would either remain safe for all or safe for none, signaling a potential regional escalation in response to increasing maritime pressure.

The IRGC further described recent U.S. restrictions on international shipping routes as “illegal” and compared them to acts of piracy under international law, sharply criticizing Washington’s maritime policy in the region.

The statement also indicated that Iran is preparing to implement a more structured and permanent system of control over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, amid heightened tensions.

Officials added that Iran will take all necessary steps to defend its national interests, warning that any attack or threat against its ports or maritime routes would have consequences across the entire region.

Security analysts say the remarks could further destabilize commercial shipping and oil supply chains, as the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman remain vital corridors for global energy transportation.
