Iran Deploys Advanced Air Defense, Targets 7 US Aircraft

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has deployed a state-of-the-art air defense system, claiming to have successfully targeted seven U.S. aircraft over the past few days, including helicopters and drones, as tensions in the Gulf escalate.

The Iranian military stated that the new system is designed to hit U.S. aircraft that previously evaded interception. Officials said the system successfully engaged planes, helicopters, and drones on Friday, though one U.S. pilot remains missing.

Despite more than a month of conflict, Iran asserts it now maintains full control of its airspace, countering previous claims by former U.S. President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pat Hagel, who had asserted U.S. air superiority.

The conflict, which began on February 28, has so far resulted in the downing of seven U.S. warplanes, a development Tehran hails as a major success in its ongoing struggle to defend its airspace.

Iranian media highlighted that this achievement marks a strategic shift, as Iran strengthens its air defenses and challenges foreign aerial operations in the region.
