Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran holds no hostility toward the American people, emphasizing that Tehran does not consider the United States public a threat.
In an open letter addressed to Americans, Pezeshkian stated that portraying Iran as a danger is inconsistent with both current realities and historical context. He stressed that Iran’s stance is often misrepresented on the global stage.
The Iranian leader also warned that attacks on the country’s critical infrastructure amount to direct aggression against the state, with consequences that could extend beyond the region. He said Iran has responded to recent strikes with determination, reaffirming its commitment to defending national sovereignty.
Pezeshkian highlighted deep-rooted mistrust toward Washington within Iran, citing foreign intervention and sanctions as key factors. He specifically referred to the 1953 Iranian coup d’état as a foundational source of distrust in bilateral relations.
Calling for a reassessment of perceptions, the Iranian president urged efforts to improve relations at the public level, stating that it is time to view facts in a more balanced and constructive context.
The remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and Western countries, with diplomacy and public messaging playing a crucial role in shaping future relations.
