Washington, United States — Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is “very close” to surrendering in the ongoing conflict but did not set a specific timeline for the war’s end.
Speaking during a virtual meeting with leaders of the Group of Seven, Trump said Iran’s leadership was under intense pressure and suggested there may be few senior officials left capable of formally announcing a surrender.
He also noted that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz was gradually improving and encouraged commercial shipping to resume operations through the key waterway.
Trump assured participants that the United States would provide security for commercial and oil tankers passing through the route if necessary.
G7 leaders reportedly urged Washington to move toward ending the conflict quickly and ensure the safety of the Strait of Hormuz, warning that disruptions in the vital shipping corridor could further impact global oil supplies and trade.
