PTI’s Azam Swati Urges Decision-Makers to Reengage Imran Khan

Date:

Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk : Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Khan Swati has urged the country’s decision-makers to end the atmosphere of hostility and bring party founder Imran Khan back on board.

Speaking to media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Swati emphasized that the gap between the public and policymakers has widened, and the powerful segments of society must recognize the public’s grievances.

He described Imran Khan as a remarkable leader whose followers now constitute around 90 percent of the population aligned with PTI. Swati warned that insults and empty slogans will not secure Khan’s release.

Swati also criticized what he called the “fake leaders of Form 47,” claiming they had weakened the country’s foundations and could not contribute meaningfully to national progress. He appealed to PTI workers to avoid bravado influenced by social media vloggers, and instead act with calm and strategic reasoning.

The statements came as the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court heard interim bail petitions of Azam Swati, Jamshed Cheema, and Musarrat Cheema related to the May 9 torches and protest cases. Judge Arshad Javed extended the interim bail until April 3, while ordering prosecution and lawyers to submit records and arguments.

The accused face charges including inciting protests and attacking military installations.
