Missile Strikes Thai Cargo Ship Near Strait of Hormuz, 3 Missing

Date:

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Web Desk: A Thai cargo vessel was struck by a missile near the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears it could sink. The ship, carrying 23 crew members, was traveling from Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port when the attack occurred, reportedly by an unknown party.

Rescue operations have successfully saved 20 crew members, while three remain missing. The Thai Navy confirmed the vessel sustained heavy damage to one section and has launched an investigation to determine the nature of the attack and identify the responsible parties.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes, through which a significant portion of global oil and gas passes. Regional tensions have escalated after Iran closed parts of the strait in retaliation to recent US and Israeli strikes, targeting ships passing through the waterway.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, warning of potential further risks to shipping in the region.
