Winning the toss, England opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 202/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Veteran Will Jacks remained unbeaten on 53, while Tom Banton contributed 30, Phil Salt 28, and Sam Curran 25, helping the team set a challenging target. Italy’s Grant Stewart and Krishn Kalogmagge claimed two wickets each for their side.

Chasing 203, Italy put up a valiant fight, making 178 runs before being bowled out on the final delivery of the innings. Ben Minetti top-scored for Italy with 60 runs, while Grant Stewart added 45 and Justin Mosca scored 43. England’s disciplined bowling attack ensured victory, with their bowlers holding nerves in a tense finish.

This win secures England’s place in the Super 12 stage of the tournament, keeping their hopes alive for a deep run in the T20 World Cup. Cricket analysts praised England’s balanced batting and bowling performance, noting the team’s adaptability under pressure.
