KP CM Sohail Afridi Vows Justice, Launches Education Initiatives in Jamrud

Date:

JAMRUD, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA – WEB DESK: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sohail Afridi has vowed to hold perpetrators of injustice accountable, emphasizing that political power is temporary and public rights must be safeguarded. His remarks came during the inauguration of upgraded Applied Sciences programs at Government College of Engineering & Technology, Jamrud.

Afridi stated that Jamrud had historically been sidelined in development initiatives, but under carefully planned projects, the region would now progress in education akin to other developed nations. “Following the vision of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, we are investing in human capital. For 78 years, our youth were taught guns, now we will teach them the pen,” he asserted. He warned that the people of KP would resist any policy harming their interests.

Addressing media bias, Afridi criticized national outlets for failing to highlight regional issues. He cited his release of PKR 400 crore for Tirah Valley victims, which was met with extensive media criticism despite benefiting locals. Afridi further emphasized that constitutional rights are being undermined, referencing restrictions faced by him and PTI leader Imran Khan, including limited access to medical care and obstructed official visits.

Highlighting youth empowerment, Afridi announced the launch of programs in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Robotics, and Software Engineering at Jamrud, aiming to modernize education and equip students for global competition. He also unveiled free transport services for colleges in merged districts, alongside the introduction of state-of-the-art labs and libraries for the first time in KP colleges.

Afridi concluded by stressing peaceful protest as a constitutional right if legal channels fail, reinforcing that KP’s government is committed to implementing decisions aligned with the province’s development and PTI’s manifesto. “Power is temporary; today is theirs, tomorrow is ours. Every injustice will be accounted for,” he added, underscoring the government’s focus on empowering youth through knowledge rather than weapons.
