Lahore Hotel Fire: Investigation Reveals Gas Leak Cause

Date:

Preliminary Report Shows Boiler LPG Leak, Faulty Fire Alarm Behind Blaze

Lahore, Pakistan, Web Desk: The preliminary investigation into the hotel fire in Gulberg, Lahore has revealed that gas leakage from an LPG-powered boiler on the B1 floor was the primary cause of the blaze. The report, prepared by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and other agencies, also found that the hotel administration allegedly violated safety regulations, including the use of LPG in the HVAC system, which caused sensor malfunctions. Additionally, the fire alarm system failed to operate automatically, delaying evacuation notifications to residents. Authorities noted that a notice from Civil Defence issued 2.5 months ago was ignored by hotel management. Further investigations are ongoing.
