Severe snowfall and freezing temperatures devastate northern Afghanistan, homes & crops destroyed.
Kabul, Afghanistan | Web Desk — Intense snowfall and freezing rains have wreaked havoc across northern Afghanistan, killing 61 people and injuring over 110 in the past three days. The Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) reports widespread destruction, including 458 homes, dozens of livestock, and hundreds of hectares of crops. Most deaths were caused by collapsing roofs and avalanches, while subzero temperatures worsened the crisis for the elderly. Relief operations face severe challenges as remote villages remain cut off. Taliban authorities have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel while essential aid is being delivered to stranded communities.
