9,000 Americans Exit Middle East: Rubio

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that approximately 9,000 American citizens have left the Middle East since the start of the ongoing conflict, as evacuation efforts continue amid escalating regional tensions.

Speaking to reporters, Rubio said the U.S. government is facilitating departures but acknowledged operational challenges due to airspace closures across parts of the region. He urged American citizens still in the Middle East to remain in contact with U.S. embassies for guidance and assistance.

Rubio also stated that American diplomatic facilities are facing direct threats. He confirmed that a drone strike targeted a parking area adjacent to the U.S. Consulate in Dubai. No immediate casualty details were provided.

The Secretary of State said the United States is attempting to destroy Iran’s missile launch sites and is targeting Tehran’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities. He reiterated that Washington will continue military operations until its objectives are achieved, emphasizing that the U.S. will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

The remarks come as tensions between the United States and Iran intensify, raising concerns of broader instability across the Middle East.
