Texas, United States – Web Desk: A 19-year-old athlete from Karachi has made history by completing one of the world’s toughest endurance events, the Ironman Texas, becoming the youngest Pakistani to achieve the feat.

Rayan Habib Ahmad completed the full-distance Ironman triathlon—covering 226.3 kilometres—in 15 hours, 20 minutes and 6 seconds in The Woodlands.

The Ironman triathlon is widely regarded as one of the most demanding sporting challenges, requiring participants to complete three consecutive disciplines without a break: a 3.8 km open-water swim, a 180 km cycling race, and a 42.2 km marathon run.

The event began at North Shore Park, where athletes swam in Lake Woodlands in water temperatures of around 24°C. Rayan completed the swimming segment in 1 hour, 45 minutes and 36 seconds.

The cycling stage took competitors through parts of The Woodlands and into northern Harris County, including loops along the Hardy Toll Road. Rayan finished the 180 km cycling segment in 7 hours, 27 minutes and 49 seconds.

The final marathon consisted of three laps around Lake Woodlands, passing through Hippie Hollow. He completed the run in 5 hours, 38 minutes and 57 seconds.

Upon crossing the finish line on Waterway Avenue, Rayan celebrated by waving the Pakistani flag, marking a proud moment for the country’s sporting community.

In a post shared on Instagram, he described the achievement as the toughest challenge of his life and said he aims to inspire a new generation of Pakistani athletes.

The official cut-off time for the 2026 Ironman Texas event was 17 hours.
