Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised China’s rapid development under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, stating that the world cannot progress without China and that its success is a matter of pride for all.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the prime minister congratulated the Chinese leadership, including President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, as well as the people of China.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries, recalling that Pakistan was among the first nations and the first Muslim-majority country to recognize the People’s Republic of China.
He said Pakistan and China have built a unique and unmatched partnership based on mutual trust, sincerity, and strategic cooperation. The prime minister noted that China has consistently stood by Pakistan during natural disasters, economic challenges, and difficult times.
Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) under China’s Belt and Road Initiative, he described the project as a symbol of Beijing’s commitment to Pakistan’s economic development, energy sector, and employment generation.
The premier also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the “One China” policy and praised China’s role in promoting diplomacy, multilateralism, and peaceful conflict resolution.
Addressing security concerns involving Chinese nationals working in Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif assured Beijing that Islamabad would provide the highest level of protection to Chinese citizens and further strengthen counterterrorism cooperation and security measures.
He expressed hope that President Xi Jinping would soon visit Pakistan to join celebrations commemorating the enduring partnership between the two countries.
