US Targets Coastal Defense Systems in Fresh Strikes on Six Iranian Locations

Date:

Washington D.C. – Web Desk: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that American forces completed a new wave of offensive strikes against Iranian military targets on Monday, targeting multiple locations across the country in a five-hour mission that concluded at 10:15 PM ET .

Locations and Targets

According to CENTCOM’s statement, the strikes hit military targets in Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas . The operation employed precision munitions against Iranian coastal defense systems, missile and drone sites, and maritime capabilities to degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz .

US Force Posture

CENTCOM confirmed that more than 50,000 US service members are currently deployed across the Middle East, with American forces remaining “vigilant, lethal, and ready” to respond to any developments in the region .

Continued Exchange of Strikes

The US strikes mark the third consecutive night of American military operations against Iranian targets . In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has conducted retaliatory attacks against US military facilities in Gulf countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and Oman .

Iranian media reported explosions in multiple southern locations, including Bandar Abbas and Chabahar . The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported six explosions in Chabahar and Konarak counties, while Iran’s air defense systems have been activated in the region .

Strategic Context

The strikes come amid escalating tensions over the status of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. Iran has declared the strait closed “until further notice,” while the US maintains that an expanded southern route remains operational . The conflicting claims stem from differing interpretations of the June 18 Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two nations, which set a 60-day timeline for negotiations to reach a final agreement .
